Of all the designer cat litter boxes I have come across, the following four are what would be considered the best and most ‘designery’. By designer cat boxes I do not mean that it has a well known designers brand name from the fashion world but that specialized designers have used their knowledge and creativity for our cause:

• ModKat
• Kattbank
• Zen Haus
• Eddies Room

ModKat - This has been designed very well although I personally do not like it. Your cat has to enter from a hole in top litter box, effectively jumping down inside on top of the litter. Having said that, it comes with a scooper and some great odor prevention design. The good thing about this is that the litter stays in the box and because your cat has to jump out of it through the top, the litter falls off it. This means that you don’t need to keep on getting cat litter supplies.

Kattbank - These cat litter boxes are multi-purpose and I don’t mean that you can use it as a pot plant too. It is a very stylish and modern bench for humans to sit on and is made in Portland, Oregon. It is sometimes call the portland cat litter box bench. There is an opening on the side of the bench where you can access and remove the litter tray. For your cat to access it and leave it, it must pass over a grid where left over litter on its paws gets removed. The base under that is also removable. There are also vents on the bench to allow for airflow. The Kattbank 2009 are well designed and all internal parts can be removed for cleaning.

Zen Haus - This is not specific to cats and can accommodate dogs as well. It can be used as a kennel or sleeping area or it can be used as cat litter area. Cat litter boxes or a tray should be put inside of it and it would be a semi private area for doing their business. It is made from polished fiberglass, has a shatterproof glass top and a removable door. There are also vents all the way around.

Eddies Room - This is also suitable for dogs. You may need to put a litter tray in here to use it for your cat for that purpose. Eddie’s Room has Scandinavian designers and comes in one form: walnut cave, ultra-suede cushion and stainless steel frame. The cushion can be machine-washed. It looks like speakers as it is a rectangular prism with a small hole at the front closer to the bottom. Would look great in any home. There seems to be very few stainless steel litter boxes around and this is one of them.

If you have the money to spare or just want a really cool piece of furniture for your beloved cat, there are many to choose from. Hopefully you will choose one of these great designs and if not they should lead to something you truly want and can afford. Meow.

Here is a list of some of the ways you can hide your cat litter boxes:

• Outside
• Palm Tree
• Hooded
• House

Outside - This is just the old fashioned way of doing things where you have the cat litter boxes under a table or in a place where visitors can not see it. Poor kitty looses its toilet for a short while and is confused until you move it back. Not the best way to hide it.

Palm Tree - This type is where the palm tree litter box is hidden in the pot of an indoor palm tree or other type of plant. It looks nice in your home and nobody can see the waste in the box. Be sure to clean these out regularly because you do not want it to only look nice, you want it to smell nice too. Rather, you do not want to be able to smell it at all.

Hooded - This is similar to the above but there is no pretty plant above it. It is cat litter boxes with a dome over it. These are made so that it is easy to clean and gives your cat some privacy also. You just need to find an ideal place for it.

House - This is like giving a kennel to a dog but it is giving a house for your cat. It is a place that your kitty can sleep as well as do their business. You will have to pay extra attention to cleaning out the litter box because  you do not want your little one to sleep in a toilet environment.

So here we can see that there are many new and old and innovative ways and ideas for hiding the litter box of your cat. Nobody wants to see a box filled with waste or even a clean one, because they know what it is for. Make an effort and attempt to hide your cats one. Or at least buy one of those groovy automatic cleaning toilet flusing types so that you really have a reason to show it off to your friends and visitors.
